CPHIN Reactor Workshops

Design workshops where stakeholders collaborate to ideate, develop, iterate, and refine topics to create implementation-ready programs.

Design

Focus on a central theme or pain point and using design thinking to guide the creation of actionable project plans.

Collaborate

Life Science industry, healthcare, academia, government, and more come together to share perspectives.

Solve

Co-create a shared solution that leverages each partner’s unique strengths and perspectives for a more effective outcome

Execute

Translate collaborative designs into real-world demonstration projects that showcase practical solutions and advancements.

Previous Reactor Workshops

Harnessing RWD for Decision-Making

This Reactor Workshop took place in December 2022 at the Velocity Incubator of the University of Waterloo. The aim was to collaborate to enhance the utilization of RWE to improve patient care by ensuring timely access to novel treatments, identifying and treating overlooked patients, and advancing the acceptance of innovative clinical endpoints. The key program that launched as a result of this Reactor is the PSP Readiness Framework.

Leveraging Synthetic Data in Canada

Taking place in Montreal in March 2024 in Montreal, this Reactor Workshop built an understanding of the potential applications of synthetic data, both in the near-term and longer-term, with a focus on developing a clear plan for implementation. Following the Reactor, CPHIN is actively mobilizing the right stakeholders in the development of a Synthetic Data Network in order to begin conducting initial demonstration projects.

Upcoming Reactor Workshops

The CPHIN team is currently in the planning stages of a Reactor Workshop for Q3 2024. Check back here to find out more!

Demonstration Projects

01

PSP Readiness Framework

The CPHIN PSP project aims to enhance the acceptance of PSP data in decision-making by key stakeholders. By leveraging significant investments in PSP programs, the project seeks to unlock the value of collected data, address data gaps, and ensure consistency and usability of data variables for decision-making. The PSP Real World Readiness Framework will soon be published for broader dissemination and include synthesized findings of the analysis as well as insights across programs.

02

Synthetic Data Network

By enabling access to large, cross-institutional datasets, a centralized synthetic data network could facilitate valuable benchmarking and other analyses, streamline logistical data-sharing processes by eliminating the need for individual agreements, enhance analysis processes through access to cleaned and standardized data, and strengthen healthcare stakeholder relationships. CPHIN is mobilizing this network in order to simplify operations, reduce redundancy, and support and foster connections between institutions and industry partners.

03

CAR T Landscape Project

Co-designed by CPHIN and various stakeholders, the project aims to improve CAR T therapy processes by addressing issues identified through interviews and a workshop. Key findings include challenges with referrer responsibility, data reporting and sharing, and capacity. The project prioritized two solutions: creating a Referral Network to streamline patient allocation and developing a Data Registry for comprehensive Canada-wide CAR T data analysis.
